Heterosis Studies in Snake Gourd (Trichosanthes Cucumerina Var. Anguina L.)

An investigation was carried out on snake gourd at the research farm of Department Horticulture, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University (BSMRAU), Bangladesh during March to June 2019. Significant heterosis observed for most characters studied find high heterotic combination better hybrids. Both positive and negative were found different F1 hybrids over parents. The best parent performance exhibited by early flowering fruit fly infestation in P2 x P7 P6 P7, respectively while P3 higher individual weight; P1 P3, P6, P4 number bearing; yield per plant hectare; maximum length diameter as well increasing 100-seed weight cross combinations P6. Based all performance, crosses viz., can be selected exploit improved hybrid lines.
